Keep what works. Rebuild what doesn’t.

A good resurfacing project begins with the structure. We evaluate the existing deck, identify what can stay, and build the upgrade around what is actually there.

Why New Beginnings

The best resurfacing decision is the one made after looking underneath the boards.

We combine detailed planning, code-conscious construction and clear communication so homeowners know what is being built and what to expect as the project moves forward.

Site-specific planning

We review existing conditions and build the scope around the home, not a generic package.

Material guidance

We help narrow material, finish and performance choices so the project fits the home and budget.

Clear scope

Scope, selections and pricing are defined before construction whenever possible.

Project communication

Scheduling and progress communication stay part of the job from start through completion.

Before & after

Start with the structure. Finish with the transformation.

Project questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my deck can be resurfaced?

The existing framing, posts, beams, joists, connections and overall condition need to be evaluated before deciding what can remain.

Can I switch from wood decking to composite?

Often, yes, provided the existing structure and joist spacing are appropriate for the selected decking system and project conditions.

Will you repair structural issues you find?

Repairs can be included when the existing deck is a good candidate. If the structure is too compromised, we will recommend a more appropriate scope.

Can railings and stairs be updated at the same time?

Yes. Resurfacing is often paired with new railings, fascia, stairs and other finish upgrades.
